What size conch can I take legally in Puerto Rico?
It is only legal to take conch that are 9” point to point and having a 3/8” lip. 1st July to September 30 is a closed season. The shellfish must be landed in the shell. (you can’t destroy the evidence of shorts by tossing the shell before landing.)
Quotas are different for recreational and commercial, but the size is the same.
This is an excellent PDF book about the life cycle of the queen conch: http://www.mda.cinvestav.mx/biblioteca/strombus/2_textos/Queen_conch.pdf
